1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup graham flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup molasses
2 cup sour milk or buttermilk



1. Position the rack in center of oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease four 6-by-3-inch loaf pans.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flours, cornmeal, baking soda and salt and whisk well.
3. In a bowl, using an electric mixer on high speed, beat the molasses and sour milk until blended. Add the dry ingredients and stir just until mixed. Do not overmix.
4. Spoon into the pans and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean. Cool in the pans for about 5 minutes before turning out onto wire racks to cool completely.

Makes: 4 small loaves
